The territory has shifted before our eyes.
Business is going to go through various transformations until it becomes something with which we can live.
It is now important to start to create maps to explore that territory so we can spot the opportunities.
But…Before You Pack
You will need to create an inventory of what you have in place:
This applies to both owners and their teams:
Your strengths: Which of your strengths will your clients need most?
Your weaknesses – include all the things you have put off doing that would make a difference for you now.
Your competitor’s strengths and weaknesses- What opportunities are they not taking advantage of?
Do some informal surveys of present customers:
What will be important for them as business comes back?
What do they worry about?
How will they want you to keep them safe?
What changes will affect the way they work?
Review your target audience:
Will they come back early or late? If late, start to identify a second target audience.
What small services or expertise can you offer them to help them move forward?
If your service demands the physical presence of you and your team, what can you put into place to keep everyone safe?
What new safety measures will they insist be in place?
How can you use these in the way you market?
When you have accomplished completing this inventory, you will be ready to start planning some experiments that are short, lean and will help you get answers more quickly.
Decisions now will require agility and creativity.
