It’s easy to focus on the dark side of this pandemic and we should remind ourselves that the Renaissance emerged after the Black Plague.
Many of the ways we do things may change. This alone is a chance to start discovering the opportunities that already exist, no matter what your area of business.
You can do this. It is up to you to make yourself a sleuth and start the process of recognizing opportunities for your business.
Here are a few ways to start:
- Talk to a wide variety of people in and out of your network. Don’t forget to include influencers who may be willing to take your call or respond to your email request for a conversation.
- Create a set of questions that relate to how they think things will change, what they specifically will need, what tools will customers now need. Limit the time and the number of questions.
- Listen closely for anything you can do to help them – forward an article they wrote, share a post, write a blog post. Doing this will give your brain some exercise in synthesizing ideas you might have heard but not processed. Creativity emerges when ideas are mixed, shaken, and connected together. You have to be really present to get good results. This extra step is just that- the shaking, stirring and processing of ideas.
- Look for what’s missing. This is a great question that I ask somewhere in my conversations. There is ALWAYS something missing.
The opportunities are upon us. It is up to us to discover them.
I am holding a Zoom call later Friday, 4.17.10 at 11am to discuss how to get started. Send me an email if you would like to join it at dale@bigshoesmarketing.com
